Paul Saffo - The Creator Economy
More
"The most successful companies will be the ones that harness creator instincts, and the biggest winners will be the companies who harness the smallest creative acts.
"More people watch YouTube than post videos because creating a video is work. More people read blogs than write them because long-form writing is a hassle.
"Meanwhile, the telegraphic sentences of tweets, texting, and Facebook updates are becoming ubiquitous acts of creator haiku. And everyone can scribble a few words to compose a Google search, which is why Google dwarfs other creator companies.
"There will eventually be a company that dwarfs Google. I don’t know its name, but I know how it will grow - click by click."

This is just the single page teaser for the forthcoming Nizo App, but it's amazingly well done. Just scroll down to bring the exploded elements into a neat layout (as this might not stay on the site when the app launches? Would be a shame.)

"Business is about profitability, engineering is about feasibility, and design is about desirability - and all three specialties need to overlap in a successful startup."

I can't remember when I first read this blog, dooce.com, but it was a long ago. Now, it's popularity has grown even more. With an estimated $30,000 to $50,000 a month in revenue, it's mind-blowing. But read into the personal side of the story and think about if you could do it.
I have neither the skill or the nerve.
