These course conversions could really be considered as five separate projects, though I undertook them under one brief - to take these existing internal BBC courses and give them a new skin (whilst the developer recoded them as responsive layouts).

The screens above show an example from each of the five courses and were generally designed to with the BBC GEL guidelines in mind. Here's more detail:

Display Screen Equipment
A course about office safety (with regards to screens) and good working practise. The concept here was to mimick the graphics from airline safety cards to present the content.

News Assignment and Location Safety
A course for staff who work on location. I created a large stylised map (with a slightly old world feel) which incorporated icons representing different parts of the course. Different crops of the map were used on different pages.

Fair Selection
A course for staff responsible for recruitment. The backgrounds were made up of elements representing the application process - stamps, stationary, hints of correspondance and forms all composed on a slight paper texture.

Safety at Work
A much wider safety course (than the first course listed here). The concept was to be a little more tongue and cheek to balance against the seriousness of the content, by taking a slogan and illustrating it with a retro style. (Note, I did not do the illustrated woman shown above.)

The Bribery Act 2010
A course to help staff navigate the Bribery Act and stay on the legal side. The visual concept took an urban feel borrowing the covert (and political?) nature of stencil graffiti to illustrate the subjects discussed.
