Just what I always wanted - a project about fleas! Ok, I may have stretched my enthusiasm there, but one thing is for sure. When you work on projects about subject matter you're not familiar with, you'll pick up all kinds of "useful" information. Such as the fact that nearly 1 in 10 dogs and over 1 in 5 cats may be suffering from fleas at any one time...
However, luckily, when it comes to flea and tick control, more vets choose FRONTLINE than any other treatment as they trust FRONTLINE products to kill parasites fast and to go on protecting your pet. I guess its because they're worth it.
Design agency Fox Murphy were our clients (yes, animals everywhere), and without their own in-house interactive expertise, we helped them convert their designs (sigh) into a Microsoft driven website for Frontline owners Merial.
We also developed a number of fun tools aimed at encouraging pet owners to use Frontline regularly. Top of the list was a desktop cat or dog which owners could customise with their pet's details.
When run on a computer desktop, the digital pet would be animated, with several stages of possible itchiness movements depending on whether the owner had recently treated their pet with Frontline or not (in real life of course).
A "happy" pet would have been just treated and an agitated pet would be nearing their next treatment date. A flea infested pet would of course, be way past the treatment due date.
Unfortunately, due to "strategy changes" the desktop pet never saw the light of day, dashing my hopes of Tamagotchi fame.
