Loon Fung have supplied Chinese and other oriental foods to retail and cash and carry customers in London since 1965.

They're one of the UK's oldest Chinese supermarket companies and one that I can remember for as long as I've lived.

We were contacted by a new member of management at the company to develop a website and refresh the brand as a whole in preparation for the launch of their major new cash and carry store in Silvertown.

With our contact at Loon Fung being a forward thinking, new generation of Chinese with the foresight to bring this family-run business into the digital age, I was personally excited to work with this proposal.

In addition to the development of Loon Fung's new bilingual website (English and Chinese) we developed a strategy for marketing the company and developing lucrative relationships with new and existing customers.

New technologies could be incorporated to encourage sales and store foot-fall by digitising the input of localised offers (each of the four London stores operated independently).

Special deals could be set up anytime and anywhere, online and depending on whether or not they were specific to a store, these deals could be automatically scheduled to notify potential customers electronically and also displayed in store via networked plasma screens.

Further designs were produced for signage, vehicle livery and some collateral products, alongside the staple development of stationary and logo redesigns.

Sadly however, after the new store's grand opening, key members of staff left Loon Fung, which consequently appeared to revert back to old school business thinking, deprioritising design.
