Staff training at the US-based home loans company PrimeLending involves plenty of courses that go through financial compliance.

For a practical solution to develop a number of these compliance courses, Articulate Storyline was used and a new sub brand created to unify the visual design of these courses.

Called “PrimeLearning", I created the simple logo and the look and feel of the graphics, aiming to keep the layout simple, straightforward but also flexible enough for the differing amounts of content (text and text with images). Graphics were bold and iconised to avoid overcomplicating the screens and the colours restricted to the brand red and grey but with the addition of orange to signify the clickable/tappable and draggable elements.

For those familiar with Storyline, you’ll recognise the UI buttons within the grey frame. Though these kinds of options (“Previous”, “Next” etc) can be customised and placed elsewhere (for example), there’s always a trade off between the work involved and future-proofing the robustness of the project with whether there’s any added value in the customisation. For these compliance courses, it was easily decided to keep these buttons as they are within the basic templates.
